This film, based loosely on a true story, tells the story of Joseph Merrick. A severely disfigured man who lived in England from 1852 through 1890. Directed by David Lynch and starring Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt and Anne Bancroft. It is a very powerful and at times disturbing movie, giving insight into the human spirit, friendship and the worth of any person, regardless of handicap.
